SittieCates Interviews Bestselling Author Jenny Colgan

(a.k.a. J.T. Colgan and Jane Beaton)
Award Winning British Chick-Lit Author (of Romantic Comedies) & SciFi Novelist

SittieCates: Hello, Jenny Colgan! Glad to have you here at my blog.

Jenny Colgan: Lovely to be here!

SittieCates: Thank you for accepting my request for an Author Interview with you. I'm a huge fan of yours!

For the first question, I’ve gathered that you were a cartoonist and a stand-up comic before. What inspired you to move to a different path, to write novels instead?

Jenny Colgan: Total and utter failure in those other two. Very few professional writers don't experience a LOT of failure when they start out. I really did want to be a professional cartoonist like Charles Schultz, but there aren't many of them.

SittieCates: Every published author has an interesting story of that first time their works got published. Could you tell us your experience, what you’ve felt or did when word reached you that your first novel, Amanda’s Wedding, was scheduled to be published?

Jenny Colgan: Hah, yes, I remember the phone ringing as I was coming in to the office and I knew it was going to be my agent, and that the phone call was going to change everything forever. It was very, very heady.

SittieCates: I see. Such a lovely meaning.

Author Interview: SittieCates Interviews Peter Cimino

Published Writer and Author

SittieCates: Hello, Peter Cimino! It is such a delight to host you here at my blog for this author interview. Thank you so much. Let’s start off with the basics. Could you tell us who Peter Cimino is?

Peter Cimino: Hello, Sittie! Thank you so much for having me and for taking an interest in me and my writings. I’m very flattered.

Ah, the loaded question, who am I? In short, I am exactly who I am supposed to be, where I’m supposed to be, doing what I’m supposed to be doing and living the life I am supposed to living. However, I am not done yet, and have a whole lot more to accomplish and achieve. Other than that, I am a proud New Jerseyan (born & raised) now living in the suburbs of Chicago (since 1994). I am a very happy husband, a very proud father. I have a lot of hobbies and passions, with writing being one of them. I try to live my life with the belief that you have two very simple choices in life: Get busy living or get busy dying. I spent far too much time dying, and have been on a journey full of living. The journey isn’t over yet.

Author Interview: SittieCates Interviews Joie Schmidt

Author of Inspirational Poetry Books, Dreams of the Heart Volume 1 and Volume 2

A single word is beautiful, especially when it is used in poetry, and matched with a couple of lines to make the essence complete. It can speak of inspirational musings, of love and longing, and all those various emotions.

For this author interview, I’m featuring one of those whom, I know, understand the art of mixing words and phrases, and creating beautiful poems from the heart - Joie Schmidt, inspirational poet and author of three poetry books, Dreams of the Heart Volumes 1 and 2, and Keep Joy in a Pocket & Love in a Heart Locket.

Hi, everyone!

For today, my birthday, ;-) I’m featuring/hosting another talented author, (this time, an inspirational novelist), Randy Mitchell, who’s the author of the beautiful novel, Sons In The Clouds.

SittieCates: Hello, Randy!

Thank you so much for taking the time to do this author interview with me.

In a nutshell, could you tell us who Randy Mitchell is when you’re not busy writing, publishing or working?

Randy Mitchell: First, thank you as well for your interest in me and my writing!

When I’m not busy working or writing, I also enjoy spending time with friends, seeing movies, practicing martial arts, studying military history, watching or going to sporting events (particularly tennis and football), dining in nice restaurants, and going somewhere to listen to live music. I love all types of rock and jazz.

Author Interview: SittieCates Interviews Author Melynda Price

Author of Until Darkness Comes (Redemption Series) and Bonded in Exile

Interviewing Melynda Price, author of Bonded in Exile and Until Darkness Comes, was such a pleasure. In this author interview that was exchanged (mainly) through emails since my computer is still busted, the author had taken me through an interesting ride to her world as an author and as a regular person, how she handles her work, her family, and more.
